“To find yourself you must explore the word,” they said … So I did … Yet, instead of booking a bunch of flight tickets, I just took my coffee cup, cuddled next to my love, and looked into her eyes.

I am just out of a 14 yr relationship, I am trying to focus on me. I listen to music, do wood working, try to go visit friends and keep busy with full time job. I know at the age of 54 I have a slim to none chance of ever meeting someone as it seems to be the young girls field of passion. What advice do you have for the older generation of women seeking a life beyond the breakup? Does the trust ever really come back?
Hi,
Thank you for the message. I do believe experience makes us understand better what we want from a relationship. If I’d be you, I’ll write down the things I’d like to feel next to my future partner (as many as I can). Then, I’d put the list aside, and I’d focus on myself, on learning how to trust myself, on spending time the way I love, on feeling good alone, on learning more about myself. I’d take this period (although I know it’s hard) as a change to discover again who I am (being alone), what I want, and how can I make by life better. I wouldn’t obsess over finding someone. There someone for everybody. I’d also recommend you to read the book “Calling in The One.” You may not believe me, but I spent my twenties without a partner (a few crushes and flings, but nothing else)… 8 months after reading this book, I found my partner. Sounds crazy, but I really believe the exercises from this book helped me. (the book is not heterosexually oriented, it also has some examples for lesbians). Hope my answer will help. Take care of yourself and have my best wishes!
My girlfriend: I’m the alpha woman in the house.
Me: You are the ALF woman of this house.

"- What can I do, to shoot your heart, she asked me. - Just take my hand and let’s dance slowly without music, I replied back."

"The chilly warmth of mornings while waking up next to you. The roasted coffee beans aroma playing with my fading dreams. Your smile hidden by the first rays of sun entering through the air curtain. Shhh, let’s sleep for a few minutes and retain the sweetness of September mornings."
